Privacy Policy

The data controller is WantYou, operator of the Site, Switzerland.

We comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the GDPR.

We collect only what is needed:

• Account: email, password (hashed), pseudonym.
• Ads: text, criteria, location, photos, visibility options.
• Ad contact methods: email, phone and/or messaging apps (stored with the ad; not shown on the public page).
• Inquiries: message body and the visitor’s email, forwarded to the advertiser.
• Activity: favorites, reports, credit history, messages sent.
• Technical: session, essential cookies, hashed IP for the guest message quota, and — only with your consent — audience measurement and advertising identifiers via Google.

• provide the service (account, ads, credits, favorites, inquiries);
• let visitors message advertisers without publishing the advertiser’s private contact details;
• secure, moderate, and prevent abuse;
• send transactional emails (verification, password reset, ad inquiries);
• meet legal and accounting needs (credit ledger);
• measure audience and, if you consent, show or measure ads via Google Analytics and Google Ads.

Your data is not sold or rented. It may be shared only with:

• technical providers (hosting, authentication, storage, email delivery);
• payment partners (e.g. Wallee, PostFinance) when you buy credits;
• Google (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC), via Google Tag Manager, for Analytics and Ads — only if you consent in the cookie banner;
• other users, when you send an inquiry (your email and message are forwarded to the advertiser so they can reply);
• authorities, when required by law.

Strictly necessary cookies: session / authentication, age attestation, and language preference. These are required for the site to work and do not require a banner choice. Guest message limits use a hashed IP address, not a quota cookie.

Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads: we use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to load Google Analytics (audience measurement) and Google Ads (advertising) only if you consent via the banner shown after age verification. You can accept all or reject all. Rejecting does not block the site. These services may set cookies or use identifiers (including advertising IDs) solely after that consent. You can change your choice later via Manage cookies in the footer.

Transfers outside Switzerland / the EU: Google LLC is based in the United States. If you consent, data such as IP address, device/advertising identifiers, and pages visited may be transferred to the United States and other countries. Google relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, where needed, standard contractual clauses. WantYou does not enable these processing operations until you consent.

The database and authentication are hosted mainly in the European Union; the application may be delivered via a CDN.

Data is kept while the account is active. Deletion anonymizes the profile and blocks access; the credit history may be retained for accounting reasons.

Under the FADP, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and objection. You can exercise them via your account or by email to info@wantyou.ch. You may also contact the Swiss FDPIC.

We may update this policy. The current version is published on this page with its date. Continued use of the Site after publication means you have taken note of the new version.
